Bouquet and Garter

Are you Skipping the Bouquet and Garter Toss? Love or hate the bouquet and garter toss; it is a tradition that dates back to the 14th century.

Originally the bouquet was made of potent herbs such as thyme or even garlic and was meant to ward off evil spirits! When the bride throws the bouquet into a group of assembled single women, it is supposed to predict the marriage of the lucky single girl who catches it and like the bouquet, the young man who catches the garter is supposed to be the next one in the group to be married.

Recently many newlyweds are opting to just toss the bouquet or not perform the tradition all altogether. Instead of this tradition, some couples are doing the “Anniversary Dance.” This is where our DJ will invite all of the married couples onto the dance floor and start eliminating the couples based on the number of years they have been married. The longest married couple is then presented with the bouquet.

If you do decide you want to do the bouquet and garter, there is usually music associated with the fun. Here are our most popular songs.
